It’s been a week since I was laid off from Sendoso. I’m sure you are wondering how?why? what? My answer to this is simple… I have no fucking clue. I could guess, beat myself up, overanalyze, and stress (which I totally have) but they don’t get ANYMORE of my energy. They turned something so beautiful into a hideous scar that I will wear going forward. It sucks but onward we go…
What’s next?
First, I can’t BELIEVE the love I received on this post. Folks have been reaching out left and right and I have some great leads on gigs. Having only a week to think about what’s next, I find myself cringing at the thought of applying to companies. I’m so happy to see that there are more CMA jobs popping back up again. Its great but I just can’t right now. It’s like jumping into a relationship after a nasty breakup. Obviously I pour everything into these organizations. Why don’t I take all my passion and put it towards my own thing?
Scary I know but I’m gonna give it awhirl. I bought cmasoulmate.com and have a website now! It’s a little over the top but hey, have you met me?! 😂 There you will find info on my consulting services. They span from Customer Marketing, Advocacy, Community, and creating a personal brand. ← My favorite these days.
Anyway, on Friday I launched the first episode of CMA Uncensored with Cassie Sneed as my guest. She is the Sr. Manager of Global Customer Marketing at Reputation. We talked all about what it means to be truly "customer-obsessed". Many companies are quick to label themselves as such, but are they genuinely walking the talk? Or is it simply becoming a buzzword, used as a safeguard to reassure customers without genuine follow-through. Short answer—> most companies are just throwing this term around.
Make sure you join live because Linkedin is not posting the recordings to all audiocasts yet.
This is a great segue into a fun project I worked on with Vouch. Here is the guide on capturing the voice of your customer with video. It’s pretty damn comprehensive and full of great advice. I’m on Chapter 6 :)
Alright that’s all for this week. Again, thank you all for your support during what I hope to be a push in the right direction.
I will tell you that I’m working on something with a special person in our community… and it’s gonna knock your socks off. Looking forward to launch day hopefully in August :)
Love your CMA Soulmate,
Leslie
